The Teacher
A Christian teacher encourages the children to study to show themselves approved by God, and to observe the Golden Rule in their behavior.
The teacher is responsible for order and respect on the school premises, and should administer, in love, whatever discipline is necessary in his or her judgment. The teacher will work closely with the parents, so as to foster an atmosphere of consistency and unity. Any unresolved problems are to be referred to the school board.
Parents
We ask that parents sending children to school encourage an atmosphere of learning, and by word and action show respect to the teacher and school board, and the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist church.
To lighten the teacher’s load, we ask that children are in school regularly and on time, and for the entire school day. Please arrange for them to leave promptly under proper supervision at the close of the school day.
Arrangements must be made well ahead of time, and the teacher notified at the beginning of the day, if you allow your child to leave school with someone other than their regular ride. Exceptions should be few.
Please see that the children do not bring to school items that would be possible safely hazards, that are not in keeping with Christian standards, or that distract from the school experience. If in doubt, please check with the teacher. Items that should remain at home include :
Cell phones, radios, walkmans, video games
Knives, matches, lighters, fireworks, guns
Toys, skateboards, jewelry
If problems arise, please discuss them with the teacher, rather than with the children. If it cannot be resolved there, please bring it to the school board. We want to work in a way that brings unity and glory to Christ.
Student Body
Each student is special to God and is encouraged to treat others as though they are God’s children. They will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, religion, color, or ethnic background.

Children with health problems or medical needs should report them to the teacher at the beginning of the school term, or when such a problem arises. If it is necessary for a student to receive medication during school hours, the information should be sent by your family physician with the medication, along with a note from the parents. All medication must be left with the teacher.
Students should remain at home when they are ill or have a fever. This is for the well-being and the protection of the other students.
Please send a note to the teacher, noting that your child was/is ill. This will ensure that his absence will be excused.
Good Eating
A good breakfast starts a happy school day.
For lunch, healthy choices will sharpen the mind.
We request that you not send sodas or meat.
Attendance
An important aspect of Christian education is to teach our children responsibility, consistent attendance, and being on time.
We ask that if your child will be absent, you:
1. Make arrangements in advance
2. Help your child complete his schoolwork at home
3. For unexpected events, call the school and leave a message by

The school accepts responsibility of the students up to 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after school. We appreciate your planning accordingly.
After a child has accumulated five (5) unexcused absences, these absences are to be reported to the school attendance officer.
Excused Absences are defined by
*authorized school activities
*illness or injury
*death or serious illness of immediate family
*religious events or observances
*medical or dental appointments
*educational travel—can include family travel
*court proceedings where the child is a party
*conditions that demonstrate to the satisfaction of the
teacher that they are excusable.
